Paul Edward Oehl was born May 24, 1908, in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of Thomas and Pauline Oehl.
On December 19, 1931 in Port Chester, New York, Paul married Anna S. Musso, the daughter of Pietro and Vincenza (Arcuri) Musso.
In 1940 Paul and Anna made their home at 867 S. 19th Street in Newark, New Jersey. They had three children: Barbara (born around 1933), and twins Peter John and Paul born July 3, 1938. Paul and Anna both stated they had finished 8 years of schooling. Paul supported the family by working as a truck driver for a milk company, earning an annual income of around $2500.
On his draft card at the beginning of World War II, Paul stated that he worked for the Sheffield Farms Co., Inc. at 206 Frelinghuysen Avenue in Newark. He was described as being 5" 8 1/2", weighed 135 pounds, had blue eyes, brown hair, a light complexion, and a "scar on right side of neck."
In 1942 the family was living at 581 S. 12th Street in Newark, and Paul's occupation was described as a "route salesman."
Paul's last residence was in Long Island City, Queens. Paul Edward Oehl died on June 1, 1982, at New York Health and Hospitals/Bellevue. He was buried June 17, 1982, on Hart Island.
