Paul McAllister was born Albert Paul MacAllester (alternate spelling) August 31, 1908 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Robert Stanley and May A. (Stuart) MacAllester. He had an older sister, May Yutta, born July 1, 1906. Their father stated he was a "builder" at the time of their births.
In 1920 the family was living at 2612 Coral Street in Philadelphia. At that time Stanley gave his occupation as a cabinet maker in an office factory.
Paul McAllister enlisted in the military during World War II on September 3, 1943 at Philadelphia. His residence at that time was 2432 Tulip Street in Philadelphia. He was discharged July 17, 1945 at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.
On May 24, 1950 Paul applied for WWII veteran's compensation. He was approved on June 9, 1950 for 23 months compensation, totaling $230. He was then living at 215 West 34th Street in New York City.
Paul was able to begin receiving Social Security benefits on January 13, 1971. His last residence was in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York.
Paul McAllister died on April 2, 1995 (April 3 according to veteran's records) at Peninsula Hospital Center. He was buried June 2, 1995 on Hart Island.
