Max Olanoff was born July 24, 1899 in Ukraine, Russia. On February 18, 1942, he registered for the United States draft during World War II. He was described as 5'4" tall, weighed 150 pounds, with brown hair, hazel eyes, and a light complexion. He lived at a four-story brownstone on the upper west side, 312 W. 91st Street, New York City. He had at least one sister, Mrs. F. Turchen, who lived at 1362 Inwood Avenue in the Bronx.
Max Olanoff died December 22, 1980. He was buried January 13, 1981 on Hart Island.
