Master Duckworth

Master Duckworth actually named Master C. Duckworth was born Nov. 26, 1936 in Taylorsville, Mississippi.    As per US Social Security Claims Index parents are listed as Ross Duckworth and Isadore Tillis.   I noted there were two listings in the Social Security Indexes.  One was the a Claim Application Index dated March 22, 1972 which listed his death date as the same date listed here as Jan. 18, 1982.   The other document was the Social Secuity Death Index with the same birth and death dates.  Both documents listed Mississippi as the original place of origin of the Social Security number.  However the death location was listed as  Oakland, Alameda, California, USA on the Social Security Death Index .   My conclusion as a genealogist is that he had family in CA who were notified of his death but might have been unable to come to New York to claim his body.    I am so happy that I could find you Mr. Duckworth.  I didn't know you but everyone deserves to be remembered.  May you rest in peace.
