An unknown Asian male, approximately 30 to 50 years old, was found deceased in the street near an apartment complex located at 130-48 Van Wyck Expressway Service Road in the South Ozone Park area of Queens. The unknown man may have gone by "Arien." He was wearing blue "Jordache" jeans; a blue "French Toast" jean jacket; white socks; and a white t-shirt with the logo "The Hardest job in America is being a Black Woman."
The man had multiple circular scars on his face, chest, and back (possibly cigarette burns), and a tattoo of lettering in an unspecified Asian language on his right forearm. He had brown eyes, straight black, 6 inch long hair, and a mustache and goatee stubble. He was 5' 4"(64 inches) tall and weighed 96lbs.
Around the time of the man's death, authorities in New York were investigating the torture and smuggling of undocumented Chinese immigrants. A smuggling vessel had crashed not far from where the decedent was found 6 months prior. It was speculated that his death may have been related to the investigation. There was evidence that the man had been held captive and was tortured for months, during which time he had very limited access to food and water.
