Lucy Kerrick

Lucy Bell Kerrick was born 17 Jun 1916 in Hedgesville, West Virginia, the fourth of six daughters and one son born to Guy Allen and Nora Lee Faulkwell Kerrick. She attended nursing school in West Virginia and by the 1950 census was working as a nurse at the Elwyn Training School in Middletown, Pennsylvania, one of the first American schools for children with intellectual disabilities. Elwyn emphasized the importance of bringing scientific methods to the study and treatment of intellectual disability and the keeping of detailed reports on each student/patient's progress. She died 16 Jul 1980 in New York.

On her mother's side, Lucy Bell Kerrick's ancestors can be traced to the 15th century and the French and English Crown.
