Haig Krikor Kutukian, an Armenian, arrived in the United States in 1920. He made the journey with his mother, Arshelous, a widow, and his sister Makroiln, or Marka. They may have been fleeing from war as their hometown of Aintab, in the Ottoman Empire, was under attack in what is known as the "Seige of Aintab" during the Franco-Turkish War.

After arriving at Ellis Island they journeyed on to Detroit where Haig's two brothers, Herand and Garabed were already living.

By the 1940's Haig was living in New York.  On his WWII Draft Card, he is described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall with brown eyes, black hair and a dark complexion.

There is no record of Haig marrying or having children.  His mother and brothers moved to California and by 1974 all had passed away there.

Haig Krikor Kutukian died on the 27th of October 1981 and was buried on Hart Island on the 16th of December 1981.

Haig Krikor Kutukian was born August 16, 1896, in Ayntab, Turkey. In 1920, at the age of 24, he traveled to the U.S. on the ship La Lorraine, accompanied by his mother, Archa (or Arsha) age 50, and his sister Makroiln (or Makrine) age 20. They were ethnic Armenians. The family departed from Le Havre, France, arriving in New York City on July 5, 1920.

The year 1930 found the family living in Detroit, Michigan, with the addition of two more brothers: Garabed and Horand, both older than Haig. He was at that time working as a real estate salesman. His naturalization was filed in the Detroit District Court. In 1942 Haig was living on Wadsworth Ave. in New York City when he was required to register for the draft during WWII.

Haig Krikor Kutukian died October 27, 1981, and was buried on Hart Island.
