I remember Uncle Ernie as a kid, we lived with my grandfather for a time after Grandma had passed away.  He had a black cat named Peroit ( not sure on the spelling).  I just remember him as a bookworm and slightly different-I would have been about 10 or 11.  He moved away so we never knew him very well.  My mother was his oldest sister, Lois. Rest in Peace.

Ernest Richard White, Jr.

He was born on November 5, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, to Ernest Richard White, Sr. and Louise Marie Domrose. He was the youngest of three. He had two older sisters, Lois Arlene White (Cohn) and Ruth Carolyn White (Hargraves).

He moved to New York when he was a young man to pursue a life as a writer. He lived in New York for many years in Greenwich Village.

He died in his beloved city on April 25, 1997.

He was our Uncle Ernie and we are happy to find him again, and to stop the clock of his anonymity.
