Augusta Diers was born February 14, 1892 in Dortmund, Germany. She departed Bremen, Germany on the SS Columbus, arriving in New York City on November 1, 1930. She stated she was single, with no children, and gave her address as 122 W. 80th Street. She was employed as a cook/housekeeper. She was 5' 2" tall, weighed 140 pounds, a blue-eyed blonde with a light complexion.
Augusta had made a return voyage to Germany, and returned to New York City September 23 1938, on the ship SS Hansa. She was carrying $25.00 with her. She stated that her person "in the old country" was her mother, Auguste Diers, from Salsitz, Germany, and her person in the United States was a Mrs. McCroy.
Augusta Diers died on December 25, 1980, and was buried January 13, 1981 on Hart Island.
