      Anna Hansine Wentrup was born in Nykøbing, Falster, a small scenic island on the Baltic Sea in Denmark, on the 13th of August 1883 to parents Jacob Christian Wentrup and Johanne Madsen Wentrup.


Anna travelled to the United States in 1919 when she was 35 years old.  The ship's manifest records that she is 5 feet 4 inches tall with blue eyes and a fair complexion.


Anna was a trained nurse who worked in private practice and for many years lived at the Central Club for Nurses in Manhattan, a members only facility that maintained an official registry for nurses and their employment, a center for social and professional meetings, as well as a dining room and residential accomodation.


In 1935, Anna travelled back to Denmark leaving in June of 1934 and returning to the United States in May of 1935.


Anna Hansine Wentrup died on the 1st of December 1981 and was buried on Hart Island on the 24th of September 1982.
