Andrew Opulento/Opulente was born July 2, 1889, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Salvatore and Lora Opulento, both natives of Italy. He had three brothers, Michael, Salvatore, and John.
Andrew worked variously as a caulker in a shipyard, a chauffeur, and the owner of his own business. His WWI draft record states he was 5'5" with a medium build, had blue eyes and dark hair.
On March 17, 1920 he married a young woman named Catherine. They lived on Thirteenth Street in Brooklyn, lodging in the home of Walter Pitt. By 1940 Andrew was living with his brother Salvatore, and gave his marital status on the Federal Census as "single".
Andrew Opulente died at the age of 90 on February 2, 1982 at New York Methodist Hospital. His last address was in Brooklyn, as was his first.
