David Alexander (also known as Alfred) Temerson was born February 11, 1906, in New York City, the son of Morris Temerson. He had at least two sisters: Roma born around 1893, and Dorothy, born in 1901.
The family lived on Edgecomb Avenue in Manhattan in 1920; and Morris worked in the manufacture of dresses, with both of Alexander's sisters working as government stenographers. Later that year, his father married Salomena Sperber, like Morris also a Polish/Russian immigrant.
In 1925, Alexander, Morris and Salomena were living in the Bronx, where Morris was employed in "embroidery," and Alexander worked as a salesman. By 1930, the three were living at 956 Anderson Avenue, still in the Bronx, and Alexander and Morris both were working for a stock brokerage...Morris as a salesman, and Alexander as a "customer's clerk." Three years later the family was living in New York City at 909 Summit Avenue, and both men were described as "clerks."
Alexander's father, Morris, died November 12, 1942, and his step-mother, Salomena on February 7, 1944. They were both buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Saddlebrook, New Jersey.
Alexander Temerson died February 20, 1983, and was buried on Hart Island.
