This is a poem I wrote for my father; it is sad indeed. But it does reflect the feeling many have when having lost a loved one..sad but beautiful and longing.

This letter

has taken me a lifetime to write

it has been in my heart all my life

I cannot find the perfect words

to explain to you

how beautiful , but sad it has been remembering you

and what you have given to me

and what you left behind

what I know you never forgot

this letter I write to you

do I address it to the wind

or send it to the stars?

It has taken me a lifetime

and a journey

into who I am

to write this letter that comes from within my heart

and yearns to tell you

of my life

and that you were not forgotten

but remembered

and longed for
